The works comprised alterations to the roof structure, removal of existing rooflights and provision of new tiled coverings to pitched and flat roof areas at both high and low level, along with limited asbestos removal and new insulation within the roof voids. Topcon also replaced the rainwater guttering along with the various outlets wiers and assorted surface water as one ground drainage.
The works commenced for 23 weeks on site and so required complete separation from the school and pupils whilst allowing the school to function on a day to day basis. Topcon won the work by way of competitive tender and were appointed as principal contractor. Andrew Winn was appointed site agent for the works.
‘From start to finish Topcon performed in a safe professional manner and had a good relationship with the school. The works were completed safely, on time and within budget. As such I’d be happy to recommend Topcon for future works and tenders found them to be open and uncomplicated in their approach which was refreshing.’ – Chris Burford-Bradshaw, Consultant Architect
